What we collect
When you submit three words, we collect what you choose to provide: your phrase, name, email address, social handle, location, newsletter preference, and submission consent. We use this information to review and manage submissions, communicate with participants when appropriate, operate the project, and maintain our records.
Email and updates
Including an email address with a submission does not subscribe you to our newsletter. Newsletter signup is separate and optional. We may contact you about your submission and, on rare occasions, about significant Three Words news genuinely relevant to participants. Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe from newsletter messages.
What may be public
If your words are displayed, we may include the contributor credit you provided—such as your first name and last initial or a pseudonym—and a social handle where appropriate.
How information is handled
We will never sell, rent, trade, or give a participant’s email address or personal information to another person or organization. Trusted service providers may process information only as needed to operate Three Words. These may include Framer and Google Workspace / Google Sheets, and eventually Kit for people who explicitly subscribe to the newsletter.
